WHAT: This program introduces the incredible world of Idaho’s owls, explaining how their specialized anatomy and behaviors allow them to thrive in a wide range of habitats. Discover the unique characteristics of local species—from tiny pygmy-owls to massive great grays—while learning tips for spotting them in the field. Conservation concerns, viewing etiquette, and ways to support owl habitat complete the presentation.

ATTENTION: PLEASE REGISTER!

1.) This class is taught by Golden Eagle Audubon volunteers. It is free and open to the public. No registration needed.

Let’s celebrate Fall at The WaterShed!

Let the beautiful fall colors inspire you as you create Fall-themed art, decorate a pumpkin, explore the Exhibit Hall and meet some live reptiles in the classroom with Idaho Reptile Zoo! Enjoy some yummy treats while you stroll around the River Campus and complete a scavenger hunt. Finally, learn about our local foodshed and participate in activities from BUGS and other community partners!

Wednesday Birders at Barber Park (10/28/2026)

Join our community partner, Golden Eagle Audubon Society for Wednesday Birders at Barber Park

WHEN: Wednesday, October 28th from 8:00am - 10:00am. Check-in is at 7:50 am. Please arrive at check-in so we can start on time.

WHAT: Join GEAS and the Wednesday Birders as we check out fall birds at Barber Park. We will meander through forest canopies over to the river looking for ducks that have come for the winter. Our 1.2 mile path will take us along the river before it loops back to the parking area. Along the way, we'll be on the lookout for waterfowl, songbirds, woodpeckers, and Great Horned Owls. We will be moving at a slow pace to allow plenty of time to observe bird behavior in the habitat.

Birding Skill Level: All levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available to borrow if needed.

Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.

Meeting place: We will meet at Barber Park in the main parking lot near the restrooms.

Restroom Availability: Restrooms are available near the parking lot.
