Join Idaho Rivers United for an

Adopt-a-River cleanup day!

This program is dedicated to helping Idaho Rivers United maintain our adopted section of the Boise River Greenbelt.

Our adopted section of the greenbelt runs through the heart of downtown Boise from Capitol Boulevard to Broadway Avenue and it is a highly used section of the greenbelt. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about the health of the Boise River and want to help us keep this section of the greenbelt clean. As our Adopt-the-Greenbelt volunteer team expands for this program, it is our goal to increase our impact to neighboring sections of the Boise greenbelt

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept 9th from 6:00 PM - 7:30PM

WHERE: Meet at the Gene Harris Bandshell in Julia Davis Park located at 700 S Capitol Blvd, Boise, ID 83706.

Everyone must complete Idaho Rivers United's 2026 volunteer waiver before participating in IRU volunteer activities. Please fill out our waiver form located HERE.

Golden Eagle Audubon Society Presents: Defending our Feathered Friends from Industrial Threats

Join Staff Attorney Bryan Hurlbutt to learn about Advocates for the West’s efforts to protect birds and other wildlife from mining and industrial threats.

As free lawyers for the environment, Advocates for the West protects and defends the West’s public lands, water, fish, wildlife, and communities. The non-profit environmental law firm empowers conservation organizations, Native American Tribes, and environmental advocates through top-notch, strategic legal services, including in a decade-long fight to safeguard the Boise River watershed from the CuMo Mine Exploration Project.

The CuMo exploration site is upstream of half of Idaho’s population and threatens sensitive species such as the Great Grey Owl, American Goshawk, wolverine, and the rare plant Sacajawea’s bitterroot. Through the project, Idaho Copper hopes to find sufficient copper and molybdenum to excavate one of the largest open-pit accessible molybdenum mines in the world—all within the Boise River watershed.
