The Boise River is home to a rich community of plants and animals.  Species especially recognized by the City of Boise include bald eagle, rainbow trout, and great blue heron.

Rob Tiedemann, a local ecologist involved for over 25 years in planning for the long-term conservation of these and other species, will lead a two hour walk along the river during which he will describe the native plants and indigenous fish and wildlife that call the river and riparian corridor their home.

He will discuss their life histories, relationships with one another, and threats to their habitats.  We will chat about the history of change and how it has affected the quality of the river, and the local ordinances to protect it.  Finally Rob will take on any and all questions you bring to the event.  Try to stump him.

Free!

Appropriate for people of all ages; only modest physical ability required (walk along dirt path with some stones)

Location:  We will meet at Marianne Williams Park and walk along on a dirt path just outside of the park boundaries.
