Join us for a short, introductory bird walk for children, families, and new birders. We provide binoculars and bird guides to borrow and enjoy for the duration of the walk. We typically meet at an area park and a volunteer leads the group as we walk and look for birds. We spend time introducing how to use binoculars and look up what species we are seeing in the provided bird guides. We have also created the kid's 'Frequent Flyer Club'; a reward based club that rewards continued participation and interest in birds and nature. Parents may sign-up their children at the Family Bird Walk and will accumulate points as they attend GEAS events. We award nature-inspired prizes at 3, 6, 9, and 12 visits. Prizes may change but include a bird activity guide, a Jr. Birder patch, and even a guide book to keep. We hold this walk once a month, normally scheduled the second Sunday of each month.
