Evening Lecture: Rattlesnake Ecology & Awareness

~ MK Nature Center Evening Lecture: Rattlesnake Ecology and Awareness~           ~ The Great Basin Rattlesnake is venomous pit viper that inhabits southwestern Idaho. Although the idea of venomous snakes is unsettling to many people, rattlesnakes are shy animals that use their sensory organ (known as a pit) and venom to subdue their prey. Rattlesnakes play an integral role in desert steppe ecosystems as both predator of rodents and prey of badgers and raptors. Boise State University's Research Technician, Kristina Parker is the evening lecture speaker.
