The Boise River riparian corridor provides critical habitat for a wide range of species including Bald eagles. Black cottonwoods and willows are critical components of this habitat and unfortunately are also a favorite food and construction resource for the American beaver. Boise Parks and Recreation manages approximately 25 miles of riparian habitat and could use your help in protecting trees from beaver damage by wrapping them wire.
We will tackle a different section of the river corridor each week through the winter. Wire, tools, and training will be provided. Volunteers will also assist with other riparian habitat maintenance and enhancement projects such as noxious weed and erosion control as needed. Specific meeting locations and other details will be sent to volunteers the week before each event.
January 9th - Tree wrapping at Kathryn Albertson Park. PLEASE NOTE: Specific details such as the meeting time and place will be sent to registrants.
