We will be exploring the area of Discovery Park. We will wander around the park looking for early migrants and any wintering songbirds in the trees and on the cliffs across the road. We will also walk towards Lucky Peak Dam looking for American dipper. We might hear rock and canyon wrens both along the river and up in the cliffs. We will be walking on a combination of grass and paved trail.
This field trip is best suited for participants with some prior birding experience. Binoculars will be available if needed.
Participants must be 16 or older to participate. Those younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.
Please note, this is a state park so either a park pass or $7 entrance fee is required. The entrance booth usually is not staffed in the winter.
