The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is located on the banks of Barber Pool and the grounds provide excellent bird habitat and good birder access. You'll find aquatic birds and shorebirds hanging out by the pool, eagles and hawks are often seen perched or flying overhead and the riparian and upland vegetation is loved by sparrows, wrens, finches and other migrating songbirds. It's a magnet for spring migrants.
Learder, RL, will focus on the birds and bird behavior unique to spring migration on this trip.
The trails are primarily dirt and have slight ups and downs. There is plenty of parking, but the restrooms are not open.
All birding levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available if needed.
Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.
