Partner event: Idaho Conservation League (ICL) Doyle Mountain is a wonderful, 6,161’ tall, non-technical peak with impressive 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks and undeveloped valleys with intact sagebrush steppe habitat. The hike to the summit from the upper parking area has a net 1,000’ elevation gain. Hikers will meet in Boise at the Albertsons on 6560 South Federal Way to make the trip to the Owyhees region together. Why join? ICL’s very own Public Lands Director will be guiding this hike, sharing the ways your travel on these trails can help ICL’s advocacy! The BLM will be taking public comments in the coming months on which trails to designate as motorized and non-motorized in this area. The Doyle Mountain trail sections you will be hiking would make excellent non-motorized trails. There is already a vast network of motorized trails surrounding the area. Together, we can ground-truth the trails and provide our recommendations to the BLM.
