Warm Springs Creek and the Corner Pollinator Garden Plantings
October 26th (Sat) & October 30th (Wed) 10am-2pm
---
Meet us in the Coffee Mill Parking Lot and then drive and park off S. Millbrook Way or Barnside and E. Warm Springs Avenue. We will walk from there to connect to a nearby stretch of the greenbelt, which is close to the corner of Warm Springs Creek.
Alternatively you can walk or ride your bike and meet us there.
We will be planting native wildflower and grass seedlings by hand.
There are two planting sites.
One is near Warm Springs Creek as part a project to enhance the upland area adjacent to the creek. We have been actively removing goatheads with the help of volunteers and would like to add some native plants in place of the weeds.
The other planting site is at our Corner Pollinator Garden. This is an ongoing project to provide nectar sources for pollinators and to beautify a bend near the greenbelt where everyone passes by.
What you will need to know and bring for planting days?
We will provide the plants, tools, equipment, and any guidance or training needed for the day, so you can join us for a relaxing day outdoors.
Feel free to bring your own gloves, tools, kneeling pad, and/or gardening trowel, if you would like to.
You may also need water, a snack, hat, sunscreen, and sturdy shoes.
Be prepared for fall weather by dressing in layers. Fall is a pleasant time of year, but it may be a little chilly to start and then it usually warms up as the day goes on.
