Join field trip leaders Jordan Bates and Will Miller to learn the basics of using eBird, going step-by-step from Start Checklist to Submit. We will also discuss sharing checklists, how to view your own checklist on eBird.org, and some of the key features of your personal eBird account. After getting acquainted with eBird, we'll put your new skills to practice on a birding walk around the park!
Please download the eBird app to your phone and create an account before the field trip. You may also want to download Merlin if you don't already use it. ***Note that both apps use the same Username and Password.
Instructions: 1. Open the app and create an account. You will establish a Username and Password. 2. Cornell will then send a link to your email to activate your account. 3. Sign in to your account in the app and review your preferences. You will probably want the following preferences: Species Name: Common Language: English Subspecies: off Distance: miles 4. Get a bird pack: Install the Idaho bird pack
If you have trouble with any of these steps, we can try to address the issue in class but please feel free to reach out to Jordan ahead of time (208-391-8338).
