We have a volunteer project with the City of Boise to do some restoration and maintenance work on our Trout Unlimited Adopt-A-Habitat area – located next to Marianne Williams Park.
We are looking for 20 people so please sign up early.
This is a kid friendly project. We will walk 1/8 mile to the project site.
The date is May 9th. Start time at 9:00 am. We should be finished by 11:30 to 12:30.
Location: Marianne Williams Park. We'll meet in the parking lot.
Main tasks:
1. Remove bull thistle and spotted knapweed. A plant specialist will provide additional details. See pics below of the two mentioned weeds.
2. We will be picking up the trash that has accumulated over the winter.
3. All of the non-native plants and trash will be moved back to the parking lot for disposal.
Other Details:
1. Prep for the weather. If it’s raining we will hold the project unless it’s a major storm. Wear waterproof shoes/boots.
2. Please bring one shovel for your group. Bring gloves and you can bring your clippers.
3. City of Boise will provide educational info and trash bags.
4. Bring water and snacks if you want them. Lunch is not to be provided.
