iNaturalist Together: 2026 Marianne Williams Park
Join iNaturalist Ambassador Kristin Gnojewski on Thursday, September 24 at Marianne Williams Park, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. for this fun, hands-on introduction to observing and documenting nature with iNaturalist. We will meet near the park restrooms.
Join fellow nature enthusiasts for an evening of exploration beginning and discover how your smartphone or camera can help deepen our scientific understanding of the natural world.
As part of iNaturalist Together, a global campaign encouraging communities to explore and connect with nearby nature, we’ll take an informal wander through the park while using iNaturalist to document the plants, animals, fungi, and other life we encounter along the way.
Whether you’re new to iNaturalist or already an experienced user, you’re welcome! During the event, you’ll learn:
- How iNaturalist works and how your observations contribute to science
- How to use the iNaturalist app to document and identify species
- Tips for taking clear, identifiable photos
- Wildlife observation techniques and other helpful field tips
- New to iNaturalist? Please download the free iNaturalist app and create an account before arriving at the park.
What to Expect: This is an informal, beginner-friendly nature walk, so come ready to explore, observe, and have fun! Restrooms and drinking fountains are available in the park. Pathways are relatively flat, with paved or packed-soil surfaces.
Bring your curiosity—and your smartphone or camera—and join us in discovering the remarkable biodiversity right in our own backyard!
