Join Golden Eagle Audubon Society for this beginner-friendly bird walk along the Bethine Church River Trail. This is a seasonal opportunity to learn about riparian habitat and focus on local birds, plants, and stewardship efforts in the area. Participants help GEAS keep the trail clean by picking up litter along the way. Expect to see songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, herons ,and kingfishers.This bird walk is targeted towards beginner birders, so if you are brand-new to birding, this is the class for you! GEAS will cover basics like adjusting your binoculars, how to use field guides, and tips & tricks to identifying birds.
Meeting location: Library! at Bown Crossing: Group will meet outside the library and walk together to the greenbelt. Please note: No public restrooms are available. The walk is between 1-2 miles on flat, unpaved trails. Binoculars are available to borrow if you do not have a pair. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring water, a face covering, and gloves (if desired for trash pick up). All participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Group size is limited to 10 participants!
